A former governor of Anambra State and African Democratic Party (ADC) presidential frontrunner, Peter Obi, has congratulated Governor Chukwuma Soludo on his swearing-in for a second term, even as three security operatives collapsed during the inauguration ceremony on Tuesday.
“I congratulate Prof. Charles Soludo on his swearing-in for a second tenure. As always, I wish him success in serving the people, and I hope this term brings greater progress and development. May God Almighty bless the good people of Anambra State and Nigeria,” Obi stated.
Meanwhile, three operatives of different security agencies in Anambra State collapsed during the inauguration of Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo on Tuesday during a ceremonial parade at the Dr Alex Ekwueme Square, venue of the inauguration.
The affected operatives included a male police officer, a male operative of the Department of State Services, and a female officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
The police operative was the first to slump and was later revived but reportedly remained unstable. He was subsequently taken in an ambulance to the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital for further medical attention.
The female NSCDC operative collapsed towards the end of the event and was assisted to an ambulance after initially declining to be carried on a stretcher.
Sources attributed the incidents to exhaustion resulting from prolonged parade under harsh weather conditions, as the event was held under intense sunshine.
