Ohanaeze youths issue 72-hr ultimatum to S’East ‘saboteur-delegates’

    EditorBy EditorJune 13, 2022No Comments4 Mins Read

    Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia

The youth wing of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisations, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has given all Igbo delegates at the just-concluded presidential primaries of the two major political parties in the country the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC; and the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP – who did not vote for South-East aspirants at the conventions – to vacate the zone without delay.

Ohanaeze Youth Council, OYC, described such delegates as traitors sabotaging the quest for Nigeria President of Igbo extraction in 2023.

In a statement issued Monday in Abuja after a review of the conducts of delegates at both conventions, OYC National President, Igboayaka. O. Igboayaka, said that Igbo youths would no longer be patient with any Igbo discovered to be engaging in any act capable of enslaving the race.

The statement made available to Ikengaonline read in part: “The Council, on Monday, 13 June 2022, in Abuja, x-rayed the height of betrayal and sabotage by a few microscopic political elements to enslave the present and future generations of Igbo extraction, the Council resolved that Alaigbo is not habitable for all these enemies of Ndigbo.”

OYC claimed that the South-East delegates sold the future of their children and unborn generation at the conventions.”

“We give PDP and APC delegates in 2022 presidential primaries apart from 14 PDP delegates from Ebonyi, 38 APC delegates from Ebonyi and One APC delegate from Imo State who voted for Prof. Chinwe Obaji, all the others should vacate from Igbo land within 72 hours.”

OYC threatened what it called “political and ballot revolution” in the South-East region and Nigeria in general to restore the position of Ndigbo in Nigeria’s political equilibrum in 2023.

The statement further read: “It is a clear betrayal and historical sabotage for delegates whom we assigned to go and vote South-East aspirants, but they went to Eagle Square Abuja and sold the future of our children. This is a typical breach of trust and they have shown that they can’t be trusted with leadership mandate in Igbo Land.

“As we anticipate political and ballot revolution in South-East and Nigeria at large, we therefore give PDP and APC delegates in 2022 presidential primaries, apart from 14 PDP delegates from Ebonyi, 38 APC delegates from Ebonyi and One APC delegate from Imo State who voted by Prof. Chinwe Obaji all the others should vacate from Igbo land within 72 hours.

Certainty there will be “Egwu Surugedee” against South-East presidential delegates.”

“It’s important to note that Sam Daddy Anyanwu PDP, National Secretary; Emeka Ihedioha, Prof Udenta Udenta, Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu, Gov Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Ifeanyi Ararume, Sam Nkire, Mrs Uju Kennedy Ohanenye, Hope Uzodinma, Orji Uzor Kalu and other Saboteurs who sold us to Bola Tinubu, Alhmad Lawan and Atiku Abubakar have murdered sleep and will not sleep again.

“Unfortunately, Gov. Hope Uzodinma used our women as delegates to collect Ten thousand dollars($10,000) from Chibuike Amaechi, but ended up giving the women Three hundred thousand naira (300,000) yet he told the delegates to vote for Ahmad Lawal. This is another height of greed and primitive accumulation of wealth and deliberate betrayal of Ndigbo by Gov Hope Uzodinma and his cohorts.

“Gov. Hope Uzodinma has demonstrated his ill character over trust, and shows his inward betrayal attribute that forms his personality.

“The betrayal by Gov Hope Uzodinma, Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu, Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Ifeanyi Ararume Prof Udenta Udenta, Sam Daddy Nnaemeka Anyanwu, Southeast and co. against South-East shall be carved in stone as a memory that will not only hunt them but will hunt their children’s children. Ndigbo will not forget this excruciating political experience by these political vampires, political cannibals and agents of darkness in Igbo.

“We earnestly pray that God will root them out from Igbo land, as we prepare for new political emancipation from the shackles of political mediocrity and injury they caused us.

“We shall in due time make public the names of all the delegate-saboteurs and other stakeholder saboteurs that betrayed South-East in 2022 presidential primary election.
We are watching closely on those set to betray Ndi Igbo come Presidential election 2023.”

The Council, therefore, enjoined political stakeholders from the region to solidarise with Mr. Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for Labour Party to ensure his victory in the forthcoming general election.

“We, therefore, advise South-East political stakeholders and politicians to immediately key into the presidential project of Mr. Peter Obi. We warn South-East politicians that any attempt to sabotage Peter Obi’s presidential election must come with great consequences.”
