About three-thousand members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Amanuke, Awka North Local Government Area, Anambra State, have decamped to the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.
The decampees declared for APGA when members of the community endorsed the APGA candidate for Anambra Central Senatorial District, Honourable Dozie Nwankwo; APGA Candidate for Awka North and South Federal Constituency, Mr. Obi Nwankwo; and the candidate of the party for Awka North State Constituency, Mr Chimezie Ikwunne.
Announcing the resolution of the people of Amanuke, the Oke Okpa Amanuke, Mr. Emeka Udenze, pointed out that they have listened and made their assessment of all the candidates in the general election and came to the collective decision to support the APGA candidates.
Mr Udenze explained that their decision is guided by their assessment that APGA and her candidates have clear vision and interest of the people of the community at heart.
The Acting Chairman of APGA in Amanuke, Mr. Ikechukwu Obidiegwu, and the Woman Leader of the town, Mrs. Joy Ikeyina, noted that the community is dominated by APGA, affirming that they believe in the political party and its vision.
They disclosed that the party has embarked on house-to-house sensitisation of the electorate on how to vote right come February 25, and March 11, 2023, while calling on the people of the community not to be deceived by politicians who may want to compromise their mandate in one way or another.
Contributing, some stakeholders in the town, including Igwedimma Ofuora and Ikechukwu Ikechukwu, thanked the stakeholders for leading the community to achieve the set goals.
