Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, Sunday afternoon, dissolved the State Executive Council after a valedictory session with the members at the New Government House.
A press statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Onyebuchi Ememanka, said that Ikpeazu thanked Council members for their dedication to service and diligence in carrying out their assignments.
According to the statement Ikpeazu said that while he “will share with members of the Council the successes of his administration, he will accept responsibility for their failures.”
The Governor was said to have wished them well in their future endeavours.
Ikpeazu came to power on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in 2015, and will be vacating office on May 29 when his second tenure will formally expire.
