Anambra State Government is set to lead an advocacy campaign for the blind and visually impaired community in the State.
This was contained in a statement made available to journalists in the state during the weekend.
It said Anambra State Signage & Advertisement Agency (ANSAA) will partner with the Nigeria Association of the Blind to drive the campaign for the blind and help enlighten people on the need to help the visually impaired in the state.
The statement partly read: “Anambra State Signage & Advertisement Agency, ANSAA, and the Nigeria Association of the Blind Anambra State Chapter will form a progressive partnership in the state to drive “White Cane Campaign” for the blind and to help enlighten ndi Anambra on lending helping hands to the blind to aid them with safe and stress-free movement across the state and beyond.”
It said the advocacy will also promote the white cane used by the blind to aid their movement in the state.
“After a strategic meeting with the association, the agency decided that it would lead an advocacy campaign for the blind and visually impaired in the State. The advocacy will promote the white cane used by the blind to aid their movement.”
MD/CEO of ANSAA, Odili Tony Ujubuoñu, had earlier assured that the Agency will provide both creative and media assets at key bus stops in the state.
He said the agency will collaborate with advertising practitioners in the state to drive the success of “The White Cane Campaign” in Anambra State.
