The National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Umuahia, Wednesday, sacked the member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi federal constituency, Hon Amobi Ogah (Labour Party).
Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and Minister of State for Labour, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, had gone to the tribunal and asked for the nullification of Ogah’s emergence, alleging that he was not validly nominated by the Labour Party.
The tribunal ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to immediately withdraw the certificate of return issued to Ogah and re-issue same to the 1st Petitioner, Hon. Onyejeocha.
Recall that Ogah had incurred the wrath of his party, LP, shortly after he was sworn in by describing President Tinubu as a very intelligent man after meeting him for the first time.
