Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has pledged to do more in good governance, noting that his administration has renewed the face of the state economically and in the infrastructure sector.
Senator Uzodimma made this known in an event to commemorate Nigeria’s 63rd Independence anniversary celebration at Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu Square Owerri.
He urged the people to remain optimistic and renew their faith in the country despite the challenges facing the nation.
Senator Uzodimma advised the gathering to be creators of wealth and employment as the state government is ensuring that youths from the state become job creators.
He maintained that Nigeria would be a greater nation and rise above her challenges to a prosperous one.
“I call on all Nigerians to strive to love our country and make it work for us. The least we can do is to invest ourselves in our country and pray fervently for her progress.”
“Therefore, as we celebrate this year’s independence anniversary, we should renew our strength in Nigeria. We must remain confident that this blessed country will ultimately become a great nation.”
The Governor called on the people of Imo State to vote for the candidate of their choice come November 11 governorship election this year.
The anniversary featured a march pass and prayers for the nation.
