Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has said that traditional institutions are crucial to the healing and stability of Nigeria.
Soludo stated this when he played host to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia.
The governor said that traditional institutions are needed for national healing in this critical challenging time of Nigeria’s nationhood.
He emphasised that a stable institution is the source of stability for the nation, and asked leaders to see everyone as one people and the country as one entity.
Soludo said the traditional institution provides the balancing force for the country, especially if everyone bond together, noting that there is increased need for more national leaders who see everyone as one people and the country as one entity, to ensure stability for the nation.
Earlier, the Monarch described the governor, as a true Nigerian. He said “Soludo has tried to live his life as a true Nigerian ambassador, representing the country in both character and attire.”
The Ooni eulogised the glorious days of Governor Soludo at the Central Bank of Nigeria which eventually gave rise to the consolidation of banks in the country.
He encouraged the Governor to continue his selfless service to Anambra State in particular and Nigeria at large.
