The directive, according to a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, was sequel to the apathy by youths in the exercise.
This is coming after a special report by Ikengaonline on why South-East youths were not showing interest in police recruitments.
Some respondents, had in the report, blamed the ugly trend on lack of transparency, and accumulated injustice against Ndigbo in the Nigeria system.
According to some respondents, some Igbo youths have lost interest in the Nigeria system following unfair treatments to the ethnic group.
The statement said Abia’s “allocation in the ongoing police recruitment exercise has been grossly underutilised.”
It read in part: “Regrettably too, about 700 candidates invited for interview in the ongoing recruitment exercise are yet to show up .
