Anambra State House of Assembly has urged the State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, to review and upgrade the state’s Social Register.
The Chairman, House Committee on Economic Planning, SDGs and International Organisations, Honourable Paul Obu, made the call after the committee’s oversight visit to the state’s Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning.
Obu, who represents Orumba North Constituency at the State Assembly, restates the committee’s contentment with the ministry’s performance, citing their findings after the oversight as evidence of effective implementation.
He acknowledged that while most of the ministry’s projects are completed, there are still a few outstanding ones, but noted that the overall operations are commendable.
In her remarks, the state Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budgeting, Mrs. Chiamaka Nnake, stated that the visit was necessary in making the activities of the ministry known.
She emphasised the importance of reviewing and upgrading the Anambra State Social Register to ensure accuracy and relevance.
