The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has responded to comments made by Labour Party Chieftain, Mr Valentine Ozigbo, regarding the performance of the Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo.
Ozigbo had while addressing Journalists over the weekend stated that he was unimpressed with Soludo’s performance after two years in office. He also faulted the governor’s governance strategy, promising that he would give a better service to the people if elected to govern the state in 2025.
Reacting to this comments, the Media and Publicity Secretary of APGA, Mr Ejimofor Opara, described Ozigbo’s claims as baseless, noting that he (Ozigbo) would not have done anything different if he was elected governor of the state.
According to him, “Ozigbo is just being mischievous. He said he is unimpressed, but failed to say what he would have done differently. What would he have done differently in Okpoko where Soludo has changed the fortune of the people in that area, what would he have done differently in Ekwulobia, or in the road revolution that Soludo is working on?
“He didn’t say any of that, he just ended up by saying that he is unimpressed. He is suffering from mid-life crisis and should focus on being busy. He is simply desperate to be governor. Life is difficult for the blind, and I pity him for not being able to see all that Soludo is doing.
“I wonder if he thinks Anambra people are gullible or dumb heads to believe that a politician will come and say he will do one term.
“Besides, you can only change a government that is not performing. And for the record, that his statement about Soludo not performing is an alibi he is throwing up, so that he can have basis to contest, but this is the same Soludo that Anambra people said is performing wonderfully well.
“Let him sort out his destiny himself and stop being a Peter Obi hanger-on. It is a no-brainer to think that a Val Ozigbo would have done anything different from what Soludo is doing today or even done anything close to it.”
