It was a black Saturday in Owerri, the Imo State capital, when a tipper rammed into three mini buses at Imo State University IMSU junction killing more than 20 persons.
According to an eye witness, the tipper lost control at the Orji flyover, but continued to IMSU junction where it rammed into three mini buses resulting in multiple casualties and deaths.
Some of the victims of the accident have been taken to the Federal University of Technology Teaching Hospital Owerri (FUTHO) for treatment as at the time of this report, while bodies of those who were confirmed dead had been deposited in the morgue.
Family members who have not seen their loved ones have been trooping into the hospital to search for them.
