Ingrace Group of Companies, Enugu, says it is getting set to commence manufacturing of its brand of cars wholly made by the company.
The Head, Business Development, Ingrace Group of Companies, Dr Dan Ochi, disclosed this while speaking to newsmen in Enugu.
Ochi said that the development followed the formal granting of licence to Ingrace in 2023 by the Federal Government of Nigeria to manufacture its own brand of cars.
“Part of our subsidiary is the Ingrace multi concept Limited; under this we have Ingrace automobile center.
“Recently, the Federal Government licenced the Ingrace Multi Concept Limited to start producing our own brand of cars.
“We were licenced last year by the Nigerian Automobile Council; so, just like you have Toyota, we have Innosson, we will soon start producing our own brand of cars here in Enugu State,” he said.
According to him, the management of Ingrace was putting everything in place to ensure that the factory begins operation before the end of the year 2024.
Ochi said that setting up a motor manufacturing company was not a teaparty.
“Right now we have gotten a licence; we have gotten a land; currently we are building structures.
“Our foreign partners were here in October/November last year, they saw our factory, and we have also done all the engineering drawing,” he said.
He added that the company was looking towards the last quarter of 2024 to kick-start the project proper.
“Our target is that in the last quarter of this year we will start putting together all the equipment and machineries readying for production.
“We are looking forward to the end of 2025, ingrace group of companies will produce its first wholly made in Nigeria car,” Ochi said.
The Enugu based Ingrace Group of Companies comprise automobiles, commercial agriculture, ICT and trainings.
The company has been in operation in Enugu for over two decades.
