…Mobilises for strike over minimum wage

The organised Labour, has issued May 31 ultimatum to the Federal Government to reverse the hike in electricity tarriff or workers would down tools nationwide.
This is as Labour has also said it will embark on indefinite strike from May 31 should Government fail to address the issue of new minimum wage.
Leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, and its Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, TUC, counterpart, therefore, urged the civil society to mobilise their members for a lockdown.
Labour leaders in a joint communique issued today by leaders of the two labour centres, gave the Federal Government and Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC, end of the month to reverse the hike.
