The Archbishop Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger and Anglican Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim, has asked the Federal Government to initiate policies and programmes that will benefit youths of the country.
According to Ibezim, youths are the future of the nation, thus programmes must be designed to enable the young generation assert their role properly as future leaders.
This was contained in a message delivered on his behalf by Reverend Ugochukwu Edokwe at Saint Peter’s Parish, Amawbia, in Awka South Local Government Area, during a special service to mark the 2024 Youth Sunday in Awka Diocese.
Bishop Ibezim described youths as future leaders of both the church and larger society and advised them to live lives of righteousness and faith.
Furthermore, Most Reverend Ibezim lamented the injustices, insecurity, banditry and hunger in a richly blessed country and called on the Federal Government to revamp the economy to secure a bright future for Nigeria.
Speaking on the importance of choice-making in an individual’s life, Ibezim regretted that many people make wrong choices, which hinder their future success. He charged youths to aspire to make the right choices to achieve success in life.
