As the dust is beginning to settle over the rescued three siblings abducted in Abia State on May 10, another Abia woman, has raised alarm over her missing five-year old son.
Mrs Ifeoma Chibuzor Onyike, who hails from Isiala Etitiulo, in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State, Friday said her missing son, Davematice Chibuzo Onyike, got missing on April 28, 2024.
She said her son a Primary three pupil of Intellectual Giant Christian Academy Umuahia, was with his siblings before he suddenly disappeared.
On how it happened, Mrs Onyike who said her husband lives in Abuja, explained that she left Dave with his siblings after feeding them before she went to her chemist shop in the neighborhood.
She said the children were playing together but at a point, Dave reportedly went outside the house to the front of the building to play.
According to her, the siblings were calling him to return inside the house and do his homework work against Monday but when he was not forthcoming they ran to the shop to check if he came there.
She said it was at that point that she raised an alarm and a search party was raised for him but without success.
“On Sunday, April 30, after feeding my children I went to my shop opposite Catholic Church in Bende. I was there when the elderly one ran to me to know if Dave his brother was with me. He was shouting: Mummy, Mummy, is Dave with you?
“I told him that they were all in the house when I left them but he said Dave was outside when they were asking him to come and start doing his homework but could not find him.
“Then I quickly raised alarm and the community people mobilised to search for him. We went to the soldiers at Army checkpoint towards Umuahia Road and the one at Abam, and informed them. We also reported to the police at Bende.
“We later went to Radio Stations to make announcement but since then, he has not been found. We have spent our fortunes in search of him. We want Government to please come to our aid and help us rescue Dave.”
Police could not be contacted as the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, in the state, Maureen Chinaka, did not pick calls put across to her.
