Ben Ezechime, Enugu
Governor Peter Mbah has expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), ward congresses in Enugu State on Saturday.
Mbah made the assertion on Saturday at his ward, Owo, in Nkanu East Local Government Area.
He described the congresses which were monitored by the Enugu PDP Ward Congress Committee from the party headquarters, Abuja, as unprecedented.
It would be recalled that the party held its congresses across the 260 wards in the state to elect the party executives at the grassroots level.
The Governor said that ward congresses were part of the process by the party to reach to the grassroots as it draws its strength from the people.
Mbah noted that there was an increased attention to good governance across the different quarters, adding that his administration would not waiver in its avowed commitment to overall development of the state.
He said it was not a surprise to witness the influx of people into the party in his ward and vowed to continue to consolidate the PDP support base.
