The bad showing of Team Nigeria continues at the Paris 2024 Olympics on Friday as Team Nigeria has been disqualified from the men’s 4x400m relay heat 2.
The team, which comprises Chidi Okezie, Emmanuel Ojeli, Ezekiel Nathanial, and Dubem Amene came second in their semi-final event before their eventual disqualification.
According to TV commentaries, the reasons for the disqualification is as a result of track infringement.
To complete what is looking like a bad day for Nigeria, the only remaining hope for any kind of medals for the country, Tobi Amusan, the world record holder in 100m hurdles (Women), came third in her semi-final event in a time of 10:55 seconds and thus crashed out in what has been described as a major upset.
