The Enugu State Government has called on the Local Government Areas and Stakeholders in various local governments in the state to take ownership of the ongoing projects in their council areas by monitoring the contractors and giving them the required support and protection.
The Secretary to the State Government, Prof Chidiebere Onyia, gave the charge during a townhall meeting held at the Enugu South Council headquarters, where he advised councillors to live up to expectations.
Onyia said that the administration of Governor Peter Mbah would deliver more infrastructural development projects in Enugu State.
He charged the councillors to be visiting the project sites in the council area three times weekly to enable them ascertain the level and quality of work being done, bearing in mind that the projects were being executed with the common wealth of the state.
The governor maintained that no part of the state would be left behind in his developmental trajectory and reiterated his administration’s commitment to making Enugu a premier destination for business, investment, tourism and living.
Speaking, the chairman of Enugu South LGA, Hon Caleb Anih, described Mbah as a disruptive innovator and visionary leader.
He promised to replicate the quality leadership of the governor in the council area and assured of his continued support.
