Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has presented the 2025 budget estimate of N755.5 billion before the State House of Assembly.
Presenting the budget termed ‘Budget of Expanded Economic Opportunities,’ at the hallowed chambers, Owerri, the Governor said the budget would give the state limitless economic opportunities, through electrification project, Orashi Energy Free Trade zone, boosting of tourism and enhanced agriculture.
Senator Uzodimma noted that the capital expenditure stood at N643.3bn, which represents 85.1% while recurrent expenditure stood at N112.3 representing 14.9%.
According to him the ministry of works and infrastructural development took the highest allocation of N296.4 bn followed by the ministry of transport that got N101bn.
He maintained that no budget could be enough to solve every problem but that his administration will do everything possible in ensuring that things are done better for the state.
The speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Mr. Chike Olemgbe, assured the Governor that the 2025 appropriation bill will receive accelerated consideration and passage by the house.
