The Police command in Imo State says it recorded the arrest of 75 suspects involved in serious crimes like kidnapping, armed robbery, murder, and rape during the yuletide.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Aboki Danjuma, revealed this while decorating 102 officers from the Imo State Police Command who were recently promoted by the Police Service Commission.
The promoted officers include one Assistant Commissioner of Police, 29 Chief Superintendents, 6 Superintendents, and 67 Deputy Superintendents.
Mr. Danjuma, while decorating them, expressed his heartfelt congratulations, and reminded them that the higher ranks demand higher responsibilities.
“This ceremony celebrates not only your promotion but also your dedication, sacrifice, and steadfast commitment to serving our state and nation.”
“You have earned this recognition through your hard work and resilience, but as you step into higher ranks, know that the responsibility is now greater.”
Speaking on the achievements of the command during the yuletide, Mr. Danjuma discloses that 7 AK-47 rifles, 4 shotguns, 3 pump-action guns, and over 150 rounds of ammunition were recovered.
Also, 7 kidnapped victims were rescued and reunited with their families, 4 stolen vehicles recovered, and 3 suspects were neutralised.
The commissioner of Police congratulated the officers and men of the command for the successes which he said reflect on the command’s collective effort and urged them not to be relentless in their task to respond to crises, build trust within the community, and upholding their core values of integrity, professionalism, and service.
