The Enugu State Government has signed a partnership agreement with a real estate and property development company, Landmark Group, to revive the Nike Lake Resort Hotel, to improve its operations.
The Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Mrs Adaora Chukwu, signed on behalf of the state government while the MD/CEO, Landmark Group, Mr Paul Onwuanibe, signed for the agency.
Speaking, the commissioner said that the aim of the partnership was to increase the Internally Generated Revenue of the state, and restore the lost glory of the famous hotel in the South-East.
The Managing Director/CEO of the Landmark Group, Mr Paul Onwuanibe, expressed delight for being a part of the developmental vision of Governor Peter Mbah.
He said that the Nike Lake Resort Hotel would soon become a hub for tourism, leisure and hospitality.
Onwuanibe assured that the hotel would provide job opportunities for the teeming youths of the state and commended Governor Mbah for giving his company the opportunity to manage the hotel.
On his part, Governor Mbah assured the company of his administration’s commitment to providing the needed support.
He said the hotel was very important to the people of the state hence there would be no reason for failures.
The governor noted that his target to attract over three million people to the state from across the globe was intentional and would not be compromised.
