As the political crisis rocking Rivers State continues to degenerate, the Trans-Niger Pipeline at Bodo, Gokana Local Government Area of the state, late Monday night, went up in flames.
Although the cause of the explosion is yet to be determined, the pipeline was suspected to have been bombed.
As at the time of filing this report, the affected section of the major pipeline is currently raging with fire.
Trans-Niger Pipeline is the critical export pipeline that transports crude to the Bonny Terminal.
Certain groups had threatened to cripple oil production in Nigeria should the Federal Government fail to resolve the political crisis in Rivers.
