In a move to deepen grassroots development and foster collaboration with the Local Government, members of the Ada United Brothers Social Club of Nigeria (AUBSCN) paid a courtesy and advocacy visit today to the Executive Chairman of Udenu Local Government Area, Aka Eze Aka, at the Council Headquarters, Obollo-Afor.
The high-powered delegation was led by the National President of the Club, Nurse Chijioke Nwodo Ph.D.
Also in the delegation are other high ranking members of the Club, and eminent sons of the Ada Obollo Community, such as the immediate past National President, Chief Dr. Frederick Chinedu Onah, the penultimate former National President, Prince Paschal O. Abba, and the Secretary of the Enugu Branch of the Association, ASP Johnson Ogbonna.
AUBSCN, a 45-year-old socio-cultural organization, comprising progressives of Ada Obollo origin at home and in the diaspora, has over the years become a beacon of unity, charity, and community-driven development. According to its leadership, the organization’s philosophy revolves around promoting the welfare and upliftment of the Ada Obollo community and, by extension, the Udenu Local Government Area.
Presenting the group’s address to the Chairman, Dr. Nwodo expressed gratitude for the opportunity to interface with the Local Government and highlighted the purpose of their visit.
“We are here to extend our heartfelt congratulations to you, our Mayor, on your well-deserved emergence as the Executive Chairman of our beloved Udenu LGA,” Dr. Nwodo stated.
“Your administration, under the transformative leadership of His Excellency, Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, has shown promising signs of progress. We believe strongly in your capacity to drive lasting change.”
Dr. Nwodo emphasized the group’s willingness to partner with the Local Government in implementing key developmental initiatives targeted at Adda Obollo and surrounding communities. He noted that AUBSCN is not only interested in advocacy but is also undertaking bold projects aimed at improving infrastructure and social welfare in their homeland.
He praised the Council Chairman for the commencement of the long-overdue construction of the 19.8KM Obollo Afor–Umuitodo–Obollo Etiti–Obollo Eke road, describing it as a historic step that previous administrations had failed to actualize. He also applauded the Chairman’s visionary approach and the visible signs of progress already recorded across Udenu since he assumed office.
“Ada United Brothers Social Club is here today not just to praise but to partner,” Dr. Nwodo said.
“We have shared goals, and we believe harmonizing our micro-level community projects with your macro-level development agenda will deliver sustainable impact for our people.”
In his response, Aka Eze Aka expressed deep appreciation for the visit and commended the group for their strong commitment to community advancement.
“This visit is very heartwarming.
“It is encouraging to see distinguished sons of Ada Obollo both at home and abroad returning to give back to their roots. Your association has demonstrated true patriotism and a deep sense of responsibility,” the Chairman said.
Aka assured the delegation of the Council’s willingness to collaborate and support their proposed and ongoing development initiatives, particularly those aimed at improving infrastructure, water supply, and youth empowerment.
On the specific issue of reticulating the Ebonyi River to serve water supply scheme, the Chairman pledged the technical support of the Local Government through its team of experts. He stated that the Council is already working with professionals in water and environmental engineering who would be deployed to assess and facilitate the feasibility of the project.
“You are not alone in this journey. We are ready to support your initiatives with technical expertise, logistics, and where necessary, funding partnerships. Development is a shared responsibility,” Aka declared.
He urged the Club to continue in its noble tradition of unity and progress, promising an open-door policy and a robust working relationship with community-based organizations committed to people-centered development.
The courtesy visit ended on a positive note with exchanges of goodwill, as the two sides reaffirmed their commitment to collaborative governance and Community empowerment.
