Arsenal Wednesday night in Spain defeated holders, Real Madrid 2-1 (5-2 aggregate) to reach the semifinals of the UEFA champions league competition.
Mikel Arteta’s men had beaten Real Madrid a week ago by a shocking 3-0 at the Emirates.
Two second half goals from Bukayo Saka who had earlier missed a penalty in the first half and Brazilian speedster, Gabriel Martinelli, were enough to hand the visitors a comfortable victory against the defending champions on the night.
Saka appeared not to have been bothered so much over his poor decision in the penalty miss as he chipped over Courtois after Mikel Merino’s clever pass on the 65th minute.
But a poor play by William Saliba who gave the ball away allowed Vini Jnr to equalize for Real on 67 minutes.
Gabriel Martinelli scored on the 93rd minute after a counter attack to ensure Arsenal beat Madrid home and away and storm into the semi finals in style where they will meet French champions, Paris Saint-Germain.
