Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has assured children that they would not be forgotten or abandoned by his administration in the quest to provide quality and affordable education to the state.
Mbah gave the assurance through his Commissioner for Education, Professor Ndubueze Mbah, during the 2025 Children’s Day celebrations at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium Enugu on Tuesday.
The governor said that through inclusive educational programmes, the expansion of learning access in rural areas, and their collaboration with community and faith-based institutions, the government was working daily to ensure that no child in the state was neglected or forgotten.
“You are not forgotten. Through inclusive education programmes, the expansion of learning access in rural areas, and our collaboration with community and faith-based institutions, we are working daily to ensure that no child is left behind.
“Education is your right, and this government is committed to making it a reality for you,” he said.
He noted that every child irrespective of status, gender, location or ability is precious and his/her welfare being taken into cognizance.
“To every child in Enugu State, irrespective of status, gender, location, or ability-you are precious to us. You deserve to grow in a safe, nurturing environment, with opportunities to dream and become. We will continue to protect your rights, promote your well-being, and empower you through education, healthcare, and innovation.
“As we celebrate today, remember this: you are not just the leaders of tomorrow-you are leaders now. Let your voices be heard, your talents be seen, and your dreams take flight. Because truly, Tomorrow is Here, and it is you.
“To our school children, we commend your efforts, resilience, and passion for learning. You are the builders of the Enugu State we dream of-tech-savvy, morally grounded, and globally competitive.
“Government investments in smart schools, teacher training, digital tools, and innovation are for you to equip you with the skills for a future that has already begun ” the governor stated.
