The former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Kola Ologbondiyan, has revealed that the reinstatement of Senator Samuel Anyanwu as the National Secretary of the PDP was not without conditions at the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting which finally held on Monday at the Wadata Plaza in Abuja.
Speaking to Channels Television on Tuesday, Ologbondiyan confirmed that Senator Anyanwu was indeed reinstated as the National Secretary on conditions that include: that he would not victimise any staff of the party; and must immediately write the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in respect to the future NEC meetings especially the 101 NEC meeting on July 23rd and the August National Convention of the party.
On whether the PDP has laid to rest the incessant crises that have bedeviled the party in recent times with the successful holding of the NEC meeting and the consequent reinstatement of the National Secretary, the former party’s spokesman said the future would depend on the implementation of the attached conditions to Senator Anyanwu’s reinstatement.
Recall that the controversy over who was the authentic scribe of the PDP between Sunday Udeh-Okoye, supported by the South-East caucus of the party, and Senator Samuel Anyanwu, said to be backed by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has factionalised the main opposition party in Nigeria.
