After years of controversy, the Federal Government has finally pegged entry admission year into Nigeria tertiary institutions at age 16.
This was disclosed by the Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, while declaring open the ongoing Policy Meeting of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, in Abuja.
According to him, the official age limit is not negotiable.
He warned that any admission conducted outside of the Central Admission Processing System, CAPS, would be illegal and perpetrators would be prosecuted.
The Minister further warned that Heads of institutions found engaging in admission fraud would have prosecution.
