The Centre of Memories, Enugu, has announced that renowned human rights advocate and academic, Prof. Chidi Anselm Odinkalu, will deliver the keynote address at an upcoming colloquium in honour of Nigerian football legend, Chairman Christian Chukwu.
The event, scheduled for Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 10:00 AM, will take place at the Main Hall of the Enugu Sports Club and is free and open to the public.
Titled “The field Marshal: The elixir of leading a people back to national reckoning – The Christian Chukwu legacy,” Prof. Odinkalu’s address will explore themes of leadership, national memory, and the enduring significance of Christian Chukwu’s legacy as both a sporting icon and symbol of visionary leadership.
Christian Chukwu, affectionately known as the “Chairman,” is celebrated not only for his extraordinary achievements on the pitch but also for his role as a national icon and proud son of Ala Ìgbò. The colloquium aims to reflect on his life, leadership style, and the inspiration his story continues to offer across generations.
Prof. Odinkalu, currently the Pro-Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Anambra State, is widely respected for his work in advancing human rights, institutional development, and national discourse. His involvement adds weight to what is expected to be a thought-provoking and celebratory gathering.
