As part of efforts to make Abia the preferred destination for investors, the Abia State Government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with VEGA Growing Global Enterprise to host an international investment summit and exhibition in the state.
The international investment summit and exhibition, scheduled for November 25-27, 2025, at the International Conference Centre, Umuahia, would provide an opportunity for international and local investors to explore the possibilities of Abia State and the many advantages it has as a preferred investment destination.
Speaking during the signing of the MoU at the Government House, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Investment Promotion and Public-Private Partnership (PPP), High Chief Green-Amakwe, said the Abia State Government would work tirelessly with its partner, VEGA Growing Global Enterprise, to host a successful investment summit in Umuahia.
High Chief Green-Amakwe, who is also the Chairman, Steering Committee for Turkey-Abia Investment Summit/Product Exhibition 2025, assured of the readiness of the Gov. Alex Otti-led administration to host the summit.
He added that the government was committed to creating a more favourable investment environment for the people of the state and all investors who would like to identify with Abia.
The Special Adviser, who recalled that the committee was inaugurated on June 4 this year and given the assignment to cooperate with Turkey through VEGA Growing Global Enterprise as a consultant to hosting the summit, noted that signing the MoU was significant as it would enable the committee to achieve the expected results.
He said that, having drawn the roadmap through the MoU that has just been signed, he expects that “people will put their ideas here towards invitation, towards what they think will make this event a success,” Chief Green-Amakwe stated.
Contributing, a member of the committee and Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Mr. Kingsley Nwokocha, said that the signing of the MoU is the beginning of the journey of the investment summit.
He emphasized the need for members to work diligently to make sure that the programme would be a success.
“This MoU is the beginning of the journey of this Turkey-Abia Investment Promotion coming in November. Our works are cut out for us.
“We need to work diligently to make sure that this investment summit is successful. Each and every one of us must work extra hard to make sure that this investment promotion or summit is one of its kind,” Mr. Nwokocha stated.
In a vote of thanks, the Managing Director of VEGA Growing Global Enterprise, Mr. Eniola Ojajuni, appreciated the Abia State Government for the opportunity given to them to work together as partners.
Mr. Ojajuni, who described Abia State as the next investment hub in the South-East, said that his organisation is poised to enhance the investment drive of Abia State. He added that the organisation is committed to ensuring the successful hosting of the investment summit.
