President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday inaugurated key projects in Imo State and joined other national leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the launch of a book authored by Governor Hope Uzodimma.
The event, which held in Owerri, featured the public presentation of Uzodimma’s book, “A Decade of Impactful Progressive Governance in Nigeria,” and was attended by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, governors elected on the APC platform, traditional rulers, religious leaders, academics, and other dignitaries.
Owerri, the state capital, was agog as schools and markets closed for the day, with pupils, students, and supporters trooping to the streets to welcome the President. Despite an early morning downpour, large crowds waved banners and sang solidarity songs as Tinubu’s convoy passed through the city.
Speaking at the launch, Governor Uzodimma said the book chronicles the APC’s decade-long journey in power, capturing its milestones, challenges, and lessons since 2015.
“This book is a reflection of the journey of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from 2015 to 2025, capturing the milestones, the challenges, and the lessons learned along the way,” Uzodimma said.
“We are not just celebrating a book; we are celebrating a decade of transformative leadership that has seen significant changes in the political landscape of our beloved country.”
The governor explained that the book provides a comparative analysis of governance before and after the APC era, highlights sectoral achievements, and outlines the party’s vision for Nigeria’s economic and political future.
He expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for unveiling the publication, calling his presence “a testament to his commitment to progressive governance and the power of documentation.”
Uzodimma also thanked the people of Imo and Nigerians for their support, pledging that the APC would remain focused on delivering good governance and building “a prosperous, secure, and united Nigeria.”
The ceremony combined with the inauguration of state projects, which include the Imo Concorde Hilton Hotel, the Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Centre, the Asumpta Flyover, and the state-of-the-art Imo Digital Learning Centre, drew accolades from dignitaries who commended Uzodimma for his efforts in governance and for documenting the APC’s first decade in power.
