In a statement by the command’s spokesperson SP Daniel Nduke, operatives also arrested Three suspects involved in the car theft.
He said: “Police operatives of the Enugu State Command, attached to Unity Division, on 13th October 2025, at about 2:10 p.m., recovered a Toyota Avensis car that was stolen from where it was parked in Otukpo, Benue State, on 29th June 2025.
“The recovery, which took place at Ibagwa-Nike, Enugu, following a security tip-off, led to the arrest of three male suspects connected to the crime.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that Ernest Oshi purchased the stolen vehicle from Ukpai Ifeanyi, a mechanic, who had earlier bought it from Ogbuzulu David, a car dealer, who in turn claimed to have purchased the vehicle from a mechanic in Benue State.
“The suspects further confessed their individual levels of involvement as the case continues to unfold under diligent police investigation.”
According to Ndukwe, the suspects and the recovered vehicle have been handed over to the Benue State Police Command, which has jurisdiction over the location of the incident, for conclusive investigation and prosecution.
