Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kyrian Igwe has said that every new rank in the Nigeria Police Force comes with greater responsibility and the need for more dedication to duty.
Igwe, who was recently promoted from Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) to DSP, stated this during a ceremony held to celebrate his promotion.
Speaking with newsmen, Igwe described the elevation as a major milestone in his career and life, expressing gratitude for the recognition.
“To whom much is given, much is expected. This new rank will spur me to give my best to the Police Force and to Nigeria. I will ensure that those who recommended me have no cause for regret,” he said.
Igwe, who serves as the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sports at the Enugu State Police Command and Chief Security Officer (CSO) of the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, pledged to remain dedicated to service.
He appreciated God for granting him the grace to witness the day, and thanked the Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), the Inspector-General of Police, and the Enugu State Commissioner of Police, Mamman Bitrus Giwa, for their roles in his promotion.
Igwe also commended sportsmen and women in the Command for organizing the celebration in his honour, urging his colleagues awaiting promotion to remain steadfast and prayerful, noting that “promotion comes from God.”
