The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended four of its top officials for one month over undisclosed infractions.
Those affected include the National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu; National Organizing Secretary, Hon. Umar Bature; National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN); and Deputy National Legal Adviser, Barr. Okechukwu Osuoha.
Their suspension followed the party’s 608th NWC meeting held on Saturday, November 1, 2025.
A statement issued by the party after the meeting said the four officials have been referred to the PDP National Disciplinary Committee for further investigation.
“During this period of suspension, the affected officials cease to function in their respective capacities,” the statement read in part.
The party further directed that, in line with Section 36(2) of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017), the Deputy National Secretary, Hon. (Arc.) Setonji Koshoedo, will serve as Acting National Secretary pending the conclusion of the disciplinary process.
Similarly, the National Director of Legal Services has been instructed to oversee the activities of the Legal Department in the absence of the suspended National and Deputy National Legal Advisers.
The PDP said the decision underscores its commitment to internal discipline, accountability, and adherence to due process within its ranks.
