The Enugu State Traditional Rulers Council has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for confirming and swearing in Dr. Kingsley Udeh as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, describing the development as a moment of pride for the state and a recognition of merit.
Dr. Udeh’s nomination was confirmed by the Senate earlier today, followed by his swearing-in ceremony at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
In a statement issued on behalf of the Council, its Chairman, His Royal Majesty Igwe Samuel Ikechukwu Asadu, the Ochiliozuo I of Edem Ani in Nsukka Local Government Area, said the appointment was a testament to Dr. Udeh’s “tireless service, intellectual distinction, and unblemished character.”
“We are delighted by the Senate’s confirmation and the President’s swift action in swearing in our son, Dr. Kingsley Udeh. His journey to this national office is a testimony to his tireless service, intellectual distinction, and unblemished character,” the statement read in part.
The Council commended President Tinubu for demonstrating confidence in Dr. Udeh’s capacity, noting that his inclusion in the Federal Executive Council underscores the administration’s commitment to competence and inclusivity.
It also lauded the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for fostering a strong partnership between the state and the Federal Government—an effort the Council credited for paving the way for such recognition.
“The strategic rapport Governor Mbah has cultivated with the Federal Government is beginning to bear fruit. This appointment strengthens Enugu’s voice at the national level and continues to spotlight our state as a hub of talent, capacity, and forward-thinking governance,” the Council stated.
Expressing confidence in Dr. Udeh’s ability to excel, the monarchs prayed for divine wisdom and guidance for him in the discharge of his duties.
“We trust that Dr. Udeh will serve with distinction, and his tenure will bring honour to the land of his birth. His appointment is a blessing to us all,” Igwe Asadu added.
The Council urged the new minister to remain steadfast in upholding the values of integrity, service, and excellence that define the Enugu spirit.
