The Anambra State Government has approved the construction of 30 new primary schools across communities without public education facilities, as part of efforts to consolidate Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s free education policy.
The decision was reached at the 22nd Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) meeting held on Wednesday at the Government House, Awka.
Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, in a statement after the meeting, said the council reviewed key government priorities and commended Governor Soludo’s landslide victory in the November 8, 2025, governorship election.
He said the council described the re-election as a “hypothesis test” confirming that electoral success is earned through service delivery and value creation.
Governor Soludo, candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), secured 73 percent of votes across all 21 local government areas of the state.
“The council stated that this proves the hypothesis that electoral success results from providing value and development to a people,” Mefor said.
The government also expressed appreciation to Ndi Anambra for their faith in Governor Soludo and their peaceful conduct during the election.
Other major decisions from the meeting included the adoption of the 2026–2028 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF), which will guide the formulation and passage of the 2026 budget before December 31, 2025.
According to Mefor, the 30 new schools will expand access to quality education and ensure every community benefits from the Soludo administration’s free education initiative.
“This will deepen the impact of the education programmes of the Solution Government,” he added.
