President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has departed Lagos for Europe as part of his end-of-year break, ahead of an official visit to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.
According to a statement issued on Sunday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President left the country on December 28 and will later proceed to Abu Dhabi at the invitation of the UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
President Tinubu is scheduled to participate in the 2026 edition of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW 2026) Summit, which will hold early in January. The annual, weeklong event brings together leaders from government, business and civil society to discuss and shape the future of sustainable development globally.
The 2026 summit, themed “The Nexus of Next: All Systems Go,” will focus on linking ambition with action across innovation, finance and people, while highlighting pathways for global progress and sustainable growth.
The statement added that President Tinubu will return to Nigeria after the conclusion of the summit.
