Lawrence Nwimo, Awka The Anambra State chapter of the Labour Party (LP) has taken legal action against candidates contesting the September 28 local government elections on its platform. Ike Nnachi, Abakaliki Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has ordered the demolition of certain parts of the International Stadium built in the state so as to attract international and national activities. Nwifuru disclosed this at the Olympic Stadium project site during a statewide inspection with stakeholders. The inspection is part of the line up of events to commemorate Nigeria’s 2024 independence anniversary and the creation of Ebonyi State on October 1st. Ike Nnachi, Abakaliki The chairman of Ivo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Emmanuel Ajah, on Friday, banned media coverage, cultural display, musical entertainment, and all forms of public gatherings in Ihie Autonomous Community for five days. Lawrence Nwimo, Awka The Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria (MDCAN) at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH) has begun an indefinite strike in response to the alleged exclusion of its members from contesting for the Vice Chancellor position at the institution.
