Ben Ezechime, Enugu The Enugu State Independent Electoral Commision (ENSIEC) has declared the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates winners of last Saturday’s local government election in the state. The Chairman of ENSIEC, Prof. Christian Ngwu, who declared the results in Enugu, said the Commission did an excellent job of conducting free, fair and credible polls. Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Monday Okpebholo, winner of last Saturday’s governorship election election in Edo State. According to the results from 18 Local Government Areas (LGAs) announced by INEC late Sunday night, Okpebholo secured a total of 291,667 votes. His closest rival, Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), garnered 247,655 votes. Olumide Akpata, representing the Labour Party (LP), finished third, receiving a total of 22,763 votes. Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Monday Okpebholo, is in a comfortable lead as the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, announces results of the Edo State governorship election held on Saturday. INEC has so far announced results of 16 out of the 28 Local Government Areas in the state.
