By Crispin Oduobuk In a media environment frequently tilted towards the breathless and the superficial, where the imperative to publish first routinely defeats the obligation to publish well, there is something quietly ambitious about what StakeBridge Media is building. Their ePublications read like work produced by people who respect the reader’s time, capital and judgment. They read like work produced for people who have actual decisions to make, not merely opinions to form. Spanning early 2026 editions, from power sector reform in Edition 002 to macroeconomic stabilisation and reform delivery in later issues, the through-line is unmistakable. This is content…
Lawrence Nwimo, Awka The Igbo Women Assembly (IWA) and other prominent Igbo stakeholders have called on governments and relevant institutions in the South-East to enact and enforce laws that promote the use of the Igbo language across various sectors as part of efforts to revitalise it. The call was made in Awka during an event marking the 2026 International Mother Tongue Day. Ben Ezechime, Enugu Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State and members of the national panel of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have commended the state chapter for conducting what they described as a peaceful local government congress across the state on Saturday. Mbah said the smooth conduct of the exercise reflected the party’s strength and internal cohesion in Enugu. However, indications emerged that the process may not have been as seamless as portrayed, following allegations by some longstanding members that the congress was hijacked by powerful stakeholders, effectively sidelining them. The aggrieved members alleged that the outcome of the congress…
By Chidi Anselm Odinkalu For nearly five years, Abia State has been the site of a bewildering contest over the crisis of corruption that now bedevils Nigeria’s judicial appointment process. Essentially, the appointment of judges in Nigeria has become something akin to a life-and-death contest, not for or on behalf of those seeking to get justice from the courts but for people who see judicial appointment as a meal-ticket for life or as leverage in the dark arts of Nigeria’s rentier theatre. Those who control the process now seem very much to use it only to benefit their families and networks;…
