Lawrence Nwimo, Awka Governor Chukwuma Soludo-led administration in Anambra State has given a name to the newly inauguarated government house in Awka, the state capital. The name was one of the decisions taken at the 10th Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) meeting held at the government house on Tuesday. Lawrence Nwimo, Awka Human rights lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, has called for a holistic investigation into the brutal killing of Michael Ekemezie, a 39-year-old Nigerian man based in Switzerland. The counsel urged the Nigerian government and Swiss authorities to probe the killing allegedly perpetrated by some Swiss police officers. A video clip that has gone viral on X (formerly Twitter) shows the moment Ekemezie was pinned to the ground by a Swiss police officer, crying out in pain and shouting before his eventual death. Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, Peter Obi, has visited last week’s flood victims in Mokwa Local Government Area of Niger State, and donated N20 million to them. Ike Nnachi, Abakaliki One person has been killed and four injured in Ekoli Edda, Edda Local Government Area of Ebonyi State in a suspected political attack by thugs. It was reliably learned from sources in the community that houses and other valuable properties were destroyed in the multiple attacks. Lawrence Nwimo, Awka Men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Anambra State Command, have raided an illegal sand mining site at Omambala River in Ifite-Ogwari Local Government Area of the State.
