Lawrence Nwimo, Awka Anambra State Albinism Association (ASAA) has reported that a total of nine members are currently battling melanoma popularly known as skin cancer. The group appealed for the intervention of the state government, organisations, and spirited individuals for the treatment of their ailing members. Ben Ezechime, Enugu  The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has sensitised tanker drivers and filling stations on prevention of tanker fire outbreaks, while cautioning tanker drivers against speeding within roads in Anambra, Ebonyi and Enugu states. The Director-General of NEMA, Mrs Zubaida Umar, gave the advice on Friday during a One-Day Awareness Campaign and Sensitisation on Tanker Fire Accidents and Fire Outbreaks held in Enugu. Ben Ezechime, Enugu The World Bank, through the Rural Access And Mobility Projects (RAAMP), is set to  construct 500-Kilometer roads across communities in Enugu State to ease access to farmlands and  movement of farm produce and boost agriculture in the state. Lawrence Nwimo, Awka Police in Anambra State have arrested a 19-year-old suspect, Chimaobi Mbonu, allegedly linked to a criminal and kidnapping gang in the state. Mbonu is also alleged to be responsible for the abduction and murder of one George Onwurah in May 2024 in the state. Ben Ezechime, Enugu  The National Orientation Agency (NOA), Enugu State Directorate, says it has commenced a state-wide community sensitisation in response to recent reported case of diphtheria outbreak in the state. Mrs Clara Nwachukwu, the state Director of the agency, said that Enugu recorded a confirmed case of diphtheria in March 2025 involving a six-year-old girl. She further explained that diphtheria was a highly contagious, but vaccine-preventable disease caused by the exotoxin-producing Corynebacterium diphtheriae.
