Ben Ezechime, Enugu The Enugu State Commissioner for Water Resources, Dr Felix Nnamani, on Saturday inaugurated three boreholes built by United States-based philanthropist, Sunday Egbo, for Amofia Amagu community in Enugu. Amaofia Amagu is in Nara Unateze in Enugu East Council Areas of the State, and the boreholes are seen as measures to reduce long-standing water challenges facing the people of the community. The three solar-powered boreholes are located at Obodo Egbo square, Obodo Ikoro Amagu Square and OgoAgu Ihuoma village, all within the community. Ugo Nosiri, Owerri Unknown gunmen have shot to death two personnel of Mopol 18, on patrol duties along old Gariki Road Okigwe, Imo State. The hoodlums ambushed the officers, threw dynamite on their patrol vehicle and engaged them in a protracted gunfight. Two officers lost their lives, while four others survived the attack. Ben Ezechime, Enugu  Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has promised continuous payment of wage awards to state workers until committee on new minimum wage concludes its work. The governor made the pledge during the Town Hall meeting with Enugu people on Saturday at the Old Government House, Enugu. The governor began the payments of the wage award of between N10,000 and N25,000 to state workers last December to cushion the effects of the fuel subsidy removal. Ben Ezechime, Enugu The Governor of Enugu State, Peter Mbah, has said that his administration had not increased tax rate in the state as wrongly perceived by some groups and individuals. Mbah said this on Saturday in Enugu while answering questions during a Town Hall meeting with citizens and different groups in the state. Ike Nnachi, Abakaliki The Police in Ebonyi State on Friday said its operatives raided the camp of hoodlums terrorising the state killing three of them and arresting five others.
