The African Centre for Media and Information Literacy (AFRICMIL) has commended Dr Ishaq Salako, Minister of State for Environment, for ordering the reinstatement of a whistleblower, Abraham Taiwo Joseph, a senior accountant at the Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria (FRIN) who was dismissed from service in September 2021 for raising concerns on abuse of office and other illegal practices at the institute. Taoreed Lagbaja, is dead, saying there is no iota of truth in the said reports. One of the reports had claimed that Lagbaja died of cancer in an undisclosed hospital. Lawrence Nwimo, Awka No fewer than 15 persons were reportedly shot dead when hoodlums invaded Nibo community close to Governor’s Lodge at Amawbia, Awka South Local Government Area. The tragedy occurred on Sunday during the Nibo community’s celebration of the Onwa Asaa festival. Ike Nnachi, Abakaliki Tragedy struck in Ebonyi as ten school girls were burnt in a gas explosion that occurred in catering school in Orokeonuoha, Ebonyi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. Lawrence Nwimo, Awka Government of Anambra State has commended the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) over recent improvement on its services.
