Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia Abia State Government says it has ordered full investigation into the cause of contamination and death of aquatic lives in Aro Ajatakiri, Ajata-na-Igu Autonomous Community stream in Ikwuano Local Government Area. A statement issued by the Commissioner for Environment, Mr Philemon Ogbonna, said the probe followed the sudden discovery of colouration in the stream, and death of fishes. Goods worth millions of Naira were destroyed in the inferno cause of which is yet to be ascertained. Ben Ezechime, Enugu The Enugu State Fire and Rescue Service recorded 480 incidents and saved properties worth N115,250,540,000 in 2023. The Director, Enugu State Fire and Rescue Service, Engr. Okwudiri Ohaa, said this on Sunday while reeling out the 2023 performance, noting that 12 lives were also saved during the period.
