Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia Nigeria’s national grid, again has collapsed, thereby leaving the entire country without electricity. The collapse occurred around 2:00pm according to a post on the X account of Nigeria’s national grid. It read: “The major grid setback has occurred and the restoration is to commence.” The latest collapse would be about the fifth time this year alone, amid public outcry. Despite firm promises by the Federal Government, national grid collapse has become a recurring decimal in Nigeria.

…Seizes defendants’ travel documents Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia The immediate-past Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, was Tuesday, remanded in Kuje prison by a Federal Capital Territory, FCT, High Court sitting in Abuja. His travel documents as well as those of other defendants were equally confiscated by the court. Bello who is standing trial over alleged N110 billion financial fraud, is to remain in custody till February when the case was adjourned to. Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia Abia State is to spend N750 billion in 2025 fiscal year. This is contained in the Appropriation Bill of the state presented to the State House of Assembly, Umuahia, onTuesday by Governor Alex Otti. The 2025 budget outlay represents 30% increase in the 2024 appropriation of N523 billion. Analysis of the budget shows that N611.7 billion, representing 82% is for capital expenditure while N138.6 billion representing 18% is for recurrent expenditure. Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia Abia State Government has announced that it would construction 20 smart schools across the state. Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, who made the announcement during a press briefing on the outcome of this week’s Executive Council meeting in Umuahia, said at least, one smart school would be sited in each of the 17 Local Government Areas in the state. Ike Nnachi, Abakaliki The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Ebonyi state have announced the suspension of the one week warning strike declared on December 2, 2024. The Union leadership in a statement on Monday said the decision followed a review meeting by the State Executive Committee of the union.
