Lawrence Nwimo, Awka Three police officers were Thursday, killed when gunmen attacked a Military checkpoint in a community in Anambra State. The gunmen were said to have opened fire on the officers who were manning the checkpoint, killing three of them at the spot. Ben Ezechime, Enugu Master Lotanna Azuokeke, a student of Bishop Otubelu Juniorate, Trans Ekulu, Enugu, has made exceptional score in mathematics in the just-released JAMB 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Azuokeke, 15, scored 99 in mathematics in the 2023 UTME, also doing exceptionally well in other three subjects he sat for in the examination. Ike Nnachi, Abakaliki The All Progressives Congress (APC), South-East Zone has ratified the suspension of members guilty of anti-party activities in Enugu and Abia States. In a memo published in some national dailies on Wednesday by the Zonal Secretariat of APC, the party stated that the ratification followed the South-East Executive Meeting of APC on Sunday April 16, 2023. Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia Fear and apprehension have enveloped residents of Aba the economic capital of Abia State following the beheading of a police personnel by yet-to-be identified hoodlums. Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia CONNAK Foundation has embarked on one week free medical outreach in Umuahia, the Abia State capital. No fewer than 3000 patients received free medical attention during the outreach according to the Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of the Foundation, Mrs Carol Emeka-Sunday. Lawrence Nwimo, Awka Anambra State Government has sealed off a hospital in Amansea, Awka North Local Government Area, over what it called quackery and illegal medical services to the people. The hospital identified as Saint Norbert Hospital was sealed off following complaints of unhealthy environment, poor facility, including the surgical ward and dearth of equipment. Lawrence Nwimo, Awka Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has denied media reports that he threatened to cut salaries of workers who fail to go to work on Mondays in compliance with the instruction of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
