By Zainab Suleiman Okino In February 2017, an earlier analysis critically examined the erosion of American democratic principles under Donald Trump’s initial presidency, highlighting the systematic dismantling of diversity and civil liberties. During his first term, Trump’s agenda was constrained by institutional checks and political opposition. On return to power, he appears poised to pursue an even more aggressive nationalist agenda, seeking to implement his seeming transformative vision. By Azu Ishiekwene It’s hard to argue when U.S. President, Donald Trump, says that God saved him to save America. Not only is a rational argument often suspended or lost when God enters the matter, but Trump’s return as the 47th president defies logic. A leader’s job is never done. But how do you rationally explain Kamala Harris’s defeat in the presidential election and, along with it, the routing of Joe Biden and the Democratic Party in the Congress?
