Navy Captain Feghabo, who died on October 19, 2025, at the age of 69, was appointed the pioneer Military Administrator of Ebonyi State shortly after its creation in 1996. Our Reporter, Umuahia Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, has faulted the Federal Government’s decision to remove Mathematics as a compulsory subject for admission into tertiary institutions, describing the move as “a regrettable step backwards” for Nigeria’s education system. Obi, in a post on his X handle on Tuesday, reacted to the Federal Ministry of Education’s clarification that Mathematics would remain compulsory only in school certificate examinations, but not as a requirement for university admission for Arts students. According to the former Anambra State governor, the clarification “changes nothing fundamentally,” as it would still discourage many…
By Mukaila Kareem Low-carb diets promise leaner bodies and better health. For many, they seem to work like magic. Some experts and influencers even claim that the era of “calories in, calories out” is over and that one can eat unlimited fat on a keto diet and still lose weight. Really? The truth is, whether measured in calories, joules, or even watts, every nutrient ingested carries reductive power derived originally from plants. This is settled biology, not slogans. As a physical therapist, one of the reasons I love my trade is that we hardly depend on lab values, and we…
By Vitus Ozoke The All Progressives Congress (APC) is fast mutating from a political party into a cathedral of conquest. Its altar, once dressed with the promise of “change,” now only administers the incense of power. State after state, governor after governor, defections pour in like worshipers at an open-door revival. APC has no litmus test. All are welcome – Jews and Gentiles, the good, the bad, and the unrepentant. It’s all politics – no principles, no policies. But behind the chants and chorus of unity lies the gasping sound of democracy dying an agonizing death – slowly and softly.…
Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia Amid rumours of an attempted coup to overthrow President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on October 21, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has cautioned the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government against using the alleged plot as a pretext to clamp down on opposition voices. The ADC warned the government not to hide under the guise of national security to conduct extrajudicial surveillance or persecute those critical of Tinubu’s administration. In a statement on Monday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, said that while the ADC views any threat to Nigeria’s democratic order with utmost seriousness, it…

Our Reporter, Abuja Human rights activist and presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, on Monday made good his threat by leading protesters in Abuja to demand the immediate release of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu. The protest, which began as early as 7 a.m., was part of a nationwide call tagged “Free Nnamdi Kanu Now” — an action Sowore described as a fight for justice and not a tribal or religious agitation.
