The sad event took place barely two days after the news of the passing of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, broke. Stephen Ukandu, Umuahia The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has  postponed  its Ward and Local Government Council congresses in Abia and Ebonyi states initially slated for today, Saturday, July 27. PDP has equally conveyed the postponement to the  Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, via a letter jointly signed by the Acting National Chairman of the party, Ambassador Umar Damagum; and National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu. Lawrence Nwimo, Awka Electricity Workers under the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) have staged protests at Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) offices in the South-East region. Lawrence Nwimo, Awka Anambra State Disability Rights Commission (ASDRC) has made known its resolution to appoint Commission Liaison Officers (CLOs) in the 179 communities that make up the state. The decision was taken at the quarterly meeting of the commission members on Tuesday. Chairman of the commission, Barr.
